I would like to request support for Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) format within DOSBox. This would be accessible through the normal mount/imgmount command with any additional required paramaters. This additional functionality will allow applications to become more portable as the entire DOS emaulated "filesystem" would be contained in a single virtual image allowing DOSBox to function more like a virtual image than a directory full of files.
I'd honestly prefer qcow2 because of the snapshot function. If it was a efficient implementation, its copy on write properties would allow better efficiency when you need to copy the smaller snaphot to disk (in a larger copy-on-write filesystem). Assuming the backing image is never modified after you do a snapshot of course.
Also, the obvious advantage of having a canonical backup.
