It's just to fix the save-config script, because the "Configuration
saved" message appears even if the configuration hasn't been saved.
Here is the improoved script (note the last 'if' at the end)
/bin/save-config
#!/bin/bash
# save the current configuration (/etc) to the floppy disc
echo "Saving current configuration"
until [ -e /floppy/etc.tar.gz ] ; do
if mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /floppy 2>&1 >/dev/null ; then
if [ -e /floppy/etc.tar.gz ] ; then
continue
else
umount /floppy
fi
fi
beep;beep;
echo "Please insert Configuration Floppy"
sleep 2
done
tar -czf /floppy/etc.tar.gz \
--exclude=*~ \
--exclude=mtab \
--exclude=*.2.old \
--exclude=*.3.old \
--exclude=*.4.old \
--exclude=*.5.old \
--exclude=*.6.old \
--exclude=*.7.old \
--exclude=*.8.old \
--exclude=*.9.old \
--exclude=dhcpcd-eth*.pid \
/etc /root
error=$?
umount /floppy
if [ $error -eq 141 ]; then
echo "Floppy protected, configuration not saved"
else
echo "Configuration saved"

This email is to inform you of release '1.1.12-20021209' of 'Postfix' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/postfix/ The changes in this release are as follows: The SMTP server now rejects mail for unknown local recipients by default, and a table for all known relay_domains destinations can be specified so that the server can reject mail for unknown relay recipients. Easier configuration with address domain classes has been introduced (local, virtual alias, virtual mailbox, and relay), where each class has its own delivery transport, table of known recipients, and list of domains. Regular expression support in alias maps and virtual mailbox maps has also been added. Project description: Postfix is an attempt to provide an alternative to the widely-used Sendmail program. Postfix attempts to be fast, easy to administer, and hopefully secure, while at the same time being sendmail compatible enough to not upset your users. If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page. You'll be presented with a list of projects you're subscribed to in the right column, which you may cancel by highlighting the project in question and clicking the 'delete' button. Sincerely, freshmeat.net |

This email is to inform you of release '2.1.10' of 'Cyrus SASL' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cyrussasl/ The changes in this release are as follows: This version corrects a number of DIGEST-MD5 interoperability issues, as well as corrects some potential buffer overflows. It is recommended that all sites using a SASLv2 release upgrade to this version. Project description: The Cyrus SASL library is a generic library for easy integration of secure network authentication to any client or server application. It supports authentication via standard plaintext methods as well as CRAM-MD5 and DIGEST-MD5 shared secret methods and KERBEROS_V4 and GSSAPI Kerberos methods. The SASL protocol framework is used by SMTP, IMAP, ACAP, LDAP, and other standard protocols. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cdrecord/ The changes in this release are as follows: A bug in mkisofs that resulted in broken filesystem images when -udf was used and the directory nesting was > 8 was fixed. Project description: Cdrecord creates home-burned CDs with a CD-R/CD-RW recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. Cdrecord supports CD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc and ATAPI/mmc compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel-port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CD-RWs (rewritable), TAO, DAO and human-readable error messages. This email is to inform you of release '3.0.2' of 'procps' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/procps/ The changes in this release are as follows: For users of top, many of the old keystrokes are back. That includes the ever-popular 'M' key. There's a B key to turn off bold now, and top can read old config files too. Now vmstat has the -s and -f switches commonly found on UNIX and BSD systems; -s provides a list of stats, and -f shows a count of how many tasks have been started on the system since boot. Most of the tools are faster now, especially top (by several times) and w (40% less time on the test system). Project description: procps is a package of utilities which report on the state of the system, including the states of running processes, amount of memory available and currently-logged-in users. hi i try to boot devil from a ext2 partition. for this i do the following things: - formate my hdb1 with ext 2 - copy all devil cd content to hdb1 - config lilo on hda1 to boot vmlinuz on hdb1 everything run (it does boot the kernel) until it try to mount the initrd. then i get some errors. i think the problem is in my lilo config that look like this: ---------------------------------------------------------------- append="hdd=ide-scsi" boot=/dev/hda vga=normal message=/boot/message menu-scheme=Wg:kw:Wg:Wg read-only prompt timeout=80 # End LILO global Section # image = /boot/vmlinuz root = /dev/hda3 label = linux # image = /boot/vmlinuz root = /dev/hdb1 label = devil append = "root=/dev/ram0 initrd=/boot/initrd.gz init=/linuxrc rw" ------------------------------------------------------------------------- can you see something wrong ? i also try this: append = "root=/dev/hdb1 initrd=/boot/initrd.gz init=/linuxrc rw" all i get is different errors.... Have a look at the latest SuSE 8.1. -- MfG / Regards Friedrich Lobenstock ____________________________________________________________________ Friedrich Lobenstock FL226-RIPE Internetservices URL: http://www.fl.priv.at/ Email: fl...@fl... ____________________________________________________________________ |

This email is to inform you of release '2.1.11' of 'Cyrus IMAP Server' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cyrusimapserver/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release corrects the pre-login buffer overflow vulnerabilities recently mentioned on BUGTRAQ. Project description: The Cyrus IMAP server is generally intended to be run on sealed systems, where normal users are not permitted to log in. The mailbox database is stored in parts of the filesystem that are private to Cyrus. All user access to mail is through the IMAP, POP3, or KPOP protocols. The private mailbox database design gives the server large advantages in efficiency, scalability, and administratability. Multiple concurrent read/write connections to the same mailbox are permitted. The server supports access control lists on mailboxes and storage quotas on mailbox hierarchies, multiple SASL mechanisms, and the Sieve mail filtering language.
