The parallel build is disabled for some packages, so you'll have to watch it for a while. The use of distcc is not well tested, so you could experience some more problems, or it just could work. Would be cool if you could give some feedback how it works. cya Heiko |

Hey, where should we place the clamav virus signatures? The virus dbs could get to big to fit in /etc (for the floppy save), but somewhere else it would always be outdated when a system boots. We could add an init script, which fetches the newest files if the user wants to. I personally would place the signatures somewhere under /var. Ideas? Suggestions ? Comments? cya Heiko P.S. It's already quite a bit windy and rainy here in Raleigh, NC. Let's see how it will be tonight... |

The "install" clamav aborted on me because there was no directory named: $WORKDIR/tmp/etc/ - only $WORKDIR/tmp/usr/ exists. So I changed this line in the install script: cp $WORKDIR/tmp/etc/* $ETCDIR/etc/ || exit 1 To this: cp etc/*conf $ETCDIR/etc/ || exit 1 And it works better now. :-) - BS |

All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/postfix/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release adds support to blacklist domains by their mail servers or by their name servers. It can also be used to block mail from domains that resolve to Verisign's mail dump for non-existent domains. It supports LDAP session sharing between lookup tables in the same Postfix process. Project description: Postfix is an attempt to provide an alternative to the widely-used Sendmail program. This email is to inform you about the release of version '3.1.12' of 'procps' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/procps/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release gives users more control over ps output, with explicit column widths ("ps -o pid,wchan:42,args") and $PS_FORMAT for a user-defined default. The new CPU usage stats of Linux 2.6.0-test4 are displayed in top and properly summed by vmstat. There are some new display options for vmstat and a fix for 4 GB wrap-around in top. Starting with this release, a set of automated tests is being used to ensure correctness. Project description: procps is a package of utilities which includes ps, vmstat, top, w, skill, snice, pgrep, pkill, free, sysctl, pmap, uptime, and kill. this patches could be useful (at least, there are *very* useful for me) http://secure.netroedge.com/~lm78/index.html http://secure.netroedge.com/~lm78/archive/i2c-2.8.0.tar.gz patches for i2c/lmsensors. don't work for kernels 2.5/2.6. it gives lots of drivers for hardware sensors (cpu temp, cpu fan speed, etc...) available on today motherboards. http://secure.netroedge.com/~lm78/archive/lm_sensors-2.8.0.tar.gz userspace applications for installing & configuring the sensors. http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ as always, getting the latest pcmcia-cs drivers is a must. don't even think in enabling pcmcia in-kernel support. http://www.sistina.com/products_lvm.htm http://tldp.org/HOWTO/LVM-HOWTO/ of course, if someone wants to do serious raid across several disks/partitions, he will probably use the device mapper patches + lvm2 patches to kernel. ftp://ftp.sistina.com/pub/LVM2/tools/LVM2.0-latest.tgz user space tools ftp://ftp.sistina.com/pub/LVM2/device-mapper/device-mapper-latest.tgz kernel patches for 2.4.21. http://sourceforge.net/projects/acpi useful with newer or modern pcs, mainly because 2.4.21 is obsolete in acpi terms... -- -- gnupg keyfingerprint -- 48AF 5BF9 8F54 2966 64CC 2327 7CD0 DD91 B09D 5799 -- Use of a keyboard or mouse may be linked to serious injuries or disorders. This email is to inform you about the release of version '2.16' of 'which' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/which/ The changes in this release are as follows: An oops in 2.15 was fixed: when the "other" permission bits apply, the file doesn't have to be readable at all in order to be executable. This only tests the 'x' bit. Project description: Which is a utility that prints out the full path of the executables that bash(1) would execute when the passed program names would have been entered on the shell prompt. It does this by using the exact same algorithm as bash. Tildes and a dot in the PATH are now expanded to the full path by default. Options allow to rather print "~/*" or "./*" and/or to print all exectuables that match any directory in PATH. If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page. You'll be presented with a list of projects you're subscribed to in the right column, which you may cancel by highlighting the project in question and clicking the 'delete' button. Sincerely, freshmeat.net |
