(caldav) em Client: Synchronizing items: Sync of item...

I'm getting caldav sync errors from em Client in the form:
Synchronizing items: Sync of item /users/.../calendar/appt.EML failed due to error: The calendar doesn't contain a timezone referenced from its components.
Many appointments sync correctly, but these errors are fairly frequent. From what I can tell, they are all repeating appointments. davmail 4.4.0, talking to exchange 2010 EWS.
I've managed to find an instance of such an appointment in the logs:
