Hi, if you are on the CeBIT and like to see some enterprise applications built with the OSBL, head for the Wilken boost in hall 5 and ask for Elmar Hirt. He will show you OpenShop E-Procurement and a pricing portal. Hi, there were some updates in wingS recently, that might be of interest to osbl- users also: o The autocompletion component XSuggest has been rewritten based on YUI. Now its use can be recommended. o An SSplitBar component has been implemented. It's not finished yet. But as soon as it's finished, I will integrate it for the sidebars. Regards, Holger |

Hi all First of all I'm very enthusiastic about this software! Therefore I (successfully) compiled the source code and tried to execute some programs. Now I have a question about concern-modeler: I manage to add processes, process steps, conditions, etc. that are added in the tree on the left of the screen. But I can't seem to figure out how to draw a process. I don't see any button/menu item/option to add elements to a drawing canvas, although this should be possible. Do I have to load a particular library to do so? Or something else? Many thanks for your help! Kind regards Raf _________________________________________________________________ Exercise your brain! Hi Manfred,
con:cern handles every activity in its own transaction and reloads the subject
for every transaction (by means of the loader) .. thus con:cern is
clusterable.
This is the reason, why your transient properties are lost.

Holger,
Thank you for the quick answer.
I'm using hibernate for the object. Some attributes of the class are
mapped as hibernate properties. Another attribute of this class isn't
mapped to a persistent field. Here is an example of such a class (see
hibernate-xdoclet-tags for persistent fields):
/**
* Speicherung Dateien
*
* @hibernate.class
* table="FILES"
*/
public class LoadFile implements Serializable {
// Persistente Felder
private Integer fileId;
private String fileName;
// Transiente Felder
private String transientValue;
/**
* Objekt anlegen
*/
public LoadFile() {
super();
}
/**
* @return Returns the fileId.
*
* @hibernate.id
* column="FILE_ID"
* generator-class="hilo"
* unsaved-value="null"
* @hibernate.generator-param
* name="table"
* value="SEQUENCE_FILE"
* @hibernate.generator-param
* name="column"
* value="IDX"
*/
public Integer getFileId() {
return fileId;
}
/**
* @param fileId The fileId to set.
*/
public void setFileId(Integer fileId) {
this.fileId = fileId;
}
/**
* @return Returns the fileName.
*
* @hibernate.property
* column="FILE_NAME"
* length="256"
*/
public String getFileName() {
return fileName;
}
/**
* @param fileName The fileName to set.
*/
public void setFileName(String fileName) {
this.fileName = fileName;
}
/**
* @return Returns the transientValue
*/
public String getTransientValue() {
return this.transientValue;
}
/**
* @param transientValue The transientValue to set.
*/
public void setTransientValue(String transientValue) {
this.transientValue = transientValue;
}
}
I'm new to con:cern. So may be I didn't understand how to do some things
right.

I don't quite understand, what you mean here. Are you using hibernate and are you talking about a hibernate mapped property? > 2) I want to process a subject immediately from within a session bean > (JBoss). Hello, 1) Is is possible to store transient values in subjects? I added a non persistant attribute to a subject. In an action I tried to change the value of this attribute. The call to setValue succeeded, but when it returned the value wasn't changed. Looks like it was set to an proxy? 2) I want to process a subject immediately from within a session bean (JBoss). So I called subject.process(subjectId). The call throws a ControllerException: transaction not allowed. subject.announceSubject(...) at same place works fine. How should I start immediate processing of a subject from within a session bean? Thanks in advance. Manfred |

Hi Manfred, I didn't deploy con:cern on jboss 3.x for a long time. Though it should work basically. The processes and worklist and hibernate session factory are all deployed as mbeans and the controller's jboss-service.xml descriptors contain dependency tags: jboss.jca:name=JBassDefaultDS,service=DataSourceBinding as far as I remember, jboss changed the naming scheme for the mbeans between 3.x and 4. try to put the name of the controller's hibernate session factory into the dependency tags instead of the datasource's. regards holger Quoting Manfred Deutsch <Man...@FI...>: > Hi, > > con:cern seems to suite our needs for a coming workflow/process > management project.
