CodeXCavator

The CodeXCavator is a tool-chain for creating and searching full-text indices for huge amounts of source code files. Grep-like tools need too much time in this case as they have to rescan all files for every search query. Especially if the search query does not result in any match all files have to be searched until the last one is processed. Index based search has a far better performance in this worst case scenario.

The CodeXCavator toolchain consists of two tools:

• Indexer
  The [CodeXCavator Indexer] is responsible for creating indexes based on a XML configuration.
• Finder
  The [CodeXCavator Finder] is a graphical tool for searching the previously created indexes interactively.

It also provides [Extensibility] through a plugin system, which allows to dynamically extend certain functionality of the application.

Contribute or Participate

Contributions are always welcome. Contribute plugins, syntax highlighter files, fixes or new features.
I also search for skilled and willing developers to participate in this project. There is always something which can be added or improved.
