Hello David,
Initially I thought it's issue with mail server. But I'm getting mail notification when I create new user for login. But same mail notification is working when new topic is created and review comments given by the reviewer. I also have the following configuration values set to 1 which is true.
$email_send_options =
{
comments_sent_to_topic_author => 0,
comments_sent_to_commenter => 0,
topic_state_change_sent_to_reviewers => 1
};
We have struck only at this point and hence seeking your help.

This is an issue with the mail server you are using. You'd need to
look at its config to get this working. Often having email
authentication is enough, but it is really server-specific. This has

Hello,
Though I set "mapping of repository URLs to names" seems it's not actually working. Still I'm able to see full repository URL instead of the mapped name. For example in 'Topic properties' full URL is visible with user id and password. I'm using codestriker 1.9.9 version. The following mapping is done in codestriker.conf file.
$ repository_name_map =
{
'svn: http://0inhdfile01.pwav.net:8080/svn/INDIA/trunk/PW_EMS/NWM3.3.0/NetWayManager3.3.3.0.0/Source;siruvanti;August2009#' => 'NWV 3.3.3.0.0 Source'
};
Regards
Sreenivas

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried with Cgi scripts. I modified apache
configuration as
Alias /codestriker/ /svn/codestriker-1.9.9/cgi-bin/
Alias /codestrikerhtml/ /svn/codestriker-1.9.9/html/
<Directory "/svn/codestriker-1.9.9/cgi-bin/">
AllowOverride None
Options ExecCGI
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
SetHandler cgi-script
</Directory>
<Directory "/svn/codestriker-1.9.9/html/">
AllowOverride None
Allow from all
</Directory>
After restarting httpd, i tried to create new topic it given "Problem
generating topic text:". so i found some clue in http access log files
nothing in error log.
httpd/log/access.log
192.168.2.29 - - [13/Aug/2009:19:00:26 +0530] "PROPFIND /svn/temp/main.c

i searched about PROPFIND and i added "DavDepthInfinity off" for the
repository (anyway default is off ). Perl is not my cup of tea. so i tried
bit but couldn't find anything.
please help me to get out of it.

Usually this amounts to some obscure configuration issue. The command
which failed was:
/usr/bin/svn cat --non-interactive --no-auth-cache --username
balu.phani --password root123
http://192.168.2.29/svn/svn_repos/fips_ssl/main/board/drivers/nitrox/linux_main.h@12
Try running this on the command line on the same machine Codestriker
is running as. There should be no password prompts.
Then try running it as the same user that is running the apache
web-server (typically nobody, apache or something else - run ps to
find out). That usually reveals the problem.
Also - try getting this working under CGI deployment first, before mod_perl.
Cheers,
David

Hello, Is there a way to change default SMTP Mail Server port used in codestriker from port 25 to another port nmber, such as 587 if using the gmail SMTP server? Thanks, Dan |

Hi Dan, > Or any ways to integrate the stcmd.exe command line utilities to interface > directly with CodeStriker. > We would need this until we can convert our existing StarTeam source code > repository over to SVN. It can be done.. there are two points of integration. One is parsing the diff format starteam generates. We'd need a bunch of sample diff files. Some with files being added/removed would be good. Then there is actual integration with the starteam repository. Usually, we just need to know the command for pulling out a specific file for a specific revision. Once we have that info - its usually not very hard to write the appropriate code. Cheers, David |

Hello, Are there any plug-ins available for the StarTeam SCM? Or any ways to integrate the stcmd.exe command line utilities to interface directly with CodeStriker. We would need this until we can convert our existing StarTeam source code repository over to SVN. Thanks in advance, Dan |

Check out the "Apache webserver configuration" from the manual. I'd expect to see some Alias/ScriptAlias lines before your Directory entries. Once that is in, you should be able to browse to: http://192.168.2.21/codestriker/codestriker.pl Cheers, David |

In theory this should work, but I have never tried in practice. lib/Codestriker/Http/UrlBuilder sets url_prefix from $query->url(), which is meant to include the port number. Which links are not working? Hi Mikhail, If you run those commands as user root, then they will go into the default perl library location. Once done, the next time you run install.pl, it will locate them automatically. And, of course, top/branches could be top/tags >> or it could be the trunk which is different again. In the above example, you would set the repository path to be: <repo-path>/top/branches/branchA then when you do the diff, it will be the missing part. So basically, for each branch you need to review, and trunk, you need a separate repository object. I have to do this at work, and it works fine in practice. We use this and a mixture of post-commit scripts as well. Cheers, David |

Perhaps there is an svn option I'm missing. Sadly.. the subversion people decided to create diffs in this silly format. I mentioned this to them years ago, but they basically ignored it. At least CVS did the right thing here. What this means, is you need to run your diff commands from the "top-level" of your project, and make sure the repository you select matches it, so that together, the paths become the full path of the file in the subversion repository. Its a bit of a pain, but it works. Its partially for this reason a lot of people use Subversion in post-commit review mode, as you don't have to worry about this. Cheers, David |

By the way, I also forgot to ask about the syntax for doing diffs in SVN. The mouse-over text help on the Create Topic screen says "svn -uN" I believe, but these options are not available. The -u is the default for SVN, the -N I'm not sure about, but it could be passed using the 'pass-through' option I suppose. But I also noticed that my diff does not contain full paths to the files, just paths relative to the CWD where I did the diff. I believe CVS puts the full RCS path in its diff and I'm wondering how Codestriker can figure out how to show the diff via ViewVc when it does not have a complete path to use. Perhaps there is an svn option I'm missing. On Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 12:00 AM, David Carson <dcc...@gm...> wrote: > I've got a strange problem with my new installation.
