This is somehow a follow-up from #1153 Right-aligned FilePaths in ThreadSearch, a kind of "inspired-by". I had been working with a focus on Thread Search Usability checking the different dispaly modes. During that time I found that I am missing these two functions.
Add a new "Toggle Display" button to the Trhead Search tab.
It changes the different list modes for the Thread Search display like the radio buttons of the Settigns/Environment/ThreadSearch notebook tab.
Motivation:
I am using C::B for over 15 years and never noted that setting parameter and I think the latter is also true for a lot of other users. The Thread Search toolbar has room for more buttons and a Toggle button to cycle through the different views is going to be pressed by users - even out of curiosity. That way they will intuitively learn about the different modes and will remember for situations where they migh want to switch them.
Currently I am using a non-default more as more ussable for my current projects, but this will be different for other projects and with a button like that I would switch views on a per-project base, e.g. for simple or new projects the default view, for complex and large ones the ListSTC view. and the Tree view for special cases. Each time going through the setup, now that I know, I still find myself not doing that in real life but rather keeping the setting I currently have.
In summary I would think that feature would give quite a lot of bang for the buck as it would enhance a very often used tool of CB.

Sorry: Forgot to change the title (I see no edit button to modify it). The request Is about 1 button, not 2.
I initially had a second button but found a workaround for that... If there is a way to edit a post, I would appreciate a hint.
You can edit all your posts but the first one, this has bitten me in the past. I have just changed the title for you and added ThreadSearch to the label list
