Sorry for the laste answer, I was knocked out for some time. I did try your method of saving the perspective both for normal and debug perspective. What you say above works once. It starts failing after closing and re-opening the call stack multiple times. Did you try that? Probably its important: when I re-open it I see it in the right size for a fraction of a second, then it goes back to the default size. Thats the same when I change the size (not saving the perspective) and then close and re-open...

did not work at first, but I compiled the wrong code... 2nd try worked fine and very intuitively. Also good to know that the values are stored in the default.conf XML file under "tabusage" Thanks a lot! The management tabs can be move, but they reset to hardcoded positions on restart. But they look more like a custom control, and probably would require a different approach. BTW: Does that Search field in Symbol browser work in your Windows version?

PS: I must admit that this issue is disturbing my workflow for years, currently many times a day. But not bad enough put another ticket on the pile.
