Today I tried the Maverick disk with a Dell Latitude X1, with a Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5751. Clonezilla did not detect it. # ifup eth0 ignoring unknown interface eth0=eth0 I'll try the Karmic disk on this machine. Not really. Clonezilla can backup and restore the VMWare ESX/ESXi server, but it won't resize the file system. Unless you know a tool to resize the file system, like resize2fs to ext2/3/4. Has anyone tried backing up their VMWare ESX/ESXi server using Clonezilla? Is it possible to use Clonezilla to backup the VMWare ESX/ESXi server and restore it on a larger storage and resize proportionally? Thanks. Thanks. That helped narrow the problem. The pertinent error is "network resource unavailable." After I got that, I found I could not ping anything from a clonezilla Lucid boot. The "ifup eth0" command returns "ignoring unkown interface eth0=eth0". Concerned that this MSI laptop had a bad NIC, I tried from a Dell Optiplex desktop with identical results. Seems Clonezilla Lucid does not provide support for NICs. Clonezilla Lucid Image repository on Iomega Home Network drive, a simple NAS appliance running an embedded samba and ftp server. The drive provides two forms of samba authentication: full guest/no auth & password only. I can connect to the shares with win7, Ubuntu Linux, and Mac OS 10.6, i.e. everything I have, but clonezilla. Clonezilla refuses to mount a samba share to /home/partimage unless I provide a username. I did a cat /proc/partitions & I can see that I have SDA & SDB. When I do dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb I get opening '/dev/sda' : Permission Denied. Any idea what is causing that problem? Anything I can do to fix this? Thanks, Rich ________________________________________ From: Richard Klein [ri...@ri...] Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2010 2:53 PM To: Steven Shiau; clo...@li...
