Hi - Are the local dev and the image repository screens both sdb1? It might say so on the live docs - step-by- step example. Is it correct when I look at the gzip files inside the image they read sda2? Are you doing this because the sda2 maps to my pc's pci express ssd 2nd partition rather than worrying about a naming issue?. I think it may means to pick my 2nd partition of my hard drive, and to not worry about the label sda2? It probably would cost extra programming time or something. Anyway, can you please verify these items? I think Clonezilla is wicked cool! thanks ice crystal Sent with [Proton Mail](https://proton.me/) secure email. |

Hi all- I might be missing something. I tried to install the gpg key for kinnetic. I used kgpg -k from the shell. I went to import the file ending in gpg and it won't import. gpg --import CHECKSUMS.TXT.gpg gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found. gpg: Total number processed: 0 Please let me know if I did something wrong. I thought that is a public key. Thanks so much for replying, and I'd like to definitely give clonezilla imaging. I used fdisk -l, and I can see now what I am looking at for a source when make an image. Clonezilla supports the disk device name like /dev/nvme0n1, so maybe it's due to the Linux kernel from 20220620-jammy does not support your hardware. Please try different versions of Clonezilla live, e.g., 3.0.2-9 or 20220729-kinetic: https://clonezilla.org/downloads.php Steven On 8/9/22 13:14, crystal via Clonezilla-live wrote: > Hi all- > > I recently had the pleasure of trying to figure out why my file system > isn't mounted to something like /de/sda1 etc. > > I found out it is because of NVME. > > If I had know I would have got a computer with SATA SSD instead. > > I just wanted to report that *alternative stable*-20220620-jammy > <https://mg.narl.org.tw/mg-cgi/mg_redirect?dmn=nchc.narl.org.tw&mid=62F1F1EE.00044AAB&mtime=1660023278&url=https%3A%2F%2Fclonezilla%2Eorg%2Fdownloads%2Fdownload%2Ephp%3Fbranch%3Dalternative> didn't > provide something similar to /dev/sda so I could select from source. > > I can't use AHCI or something like that either in my UEFI. > > It detected the partions but not the equivalent of /dev/sda for NVME. > > I hope you all know what this means because it is kinf of a foreign > gizmo to me. > > I joined this list because I think clonezilla would be awesome for > making backups, and I eagerly await a version where I can try a backup > with NVME. > > I am using luckybackup rsync GUI and wasabi for the time being. > > THANKS > > Sent with Proton Mail > <https://mg.narl.org.tw/mg-cgi/mg_redirect?dmn=nchc.narl.org.tw&mid=62F1F1EE.00044AAB&mtime=1660023278&url=https%3A%2F%2Fproton%2Eme%2F> > secure email. > > > _______________________________________________ > Clonezilla-live mailing list > Clo...@li... > https://mg.narl.org.tw/mg-cgi/mg_redirect?dmn=nchc.narl.org.tw&mid=62F1F1EE.00044AAB&mtime=1660023278&url=https%3A%2F%2Flists%2Esourceforge%2Enet%2Flists%2Flistinfo%2Fclonezilla%2Dlive -- Steven Shiau <steven _at_ stevenshiau org> Public Key Server PGP Key ID: 4096R/163E3FB0 Fingerprint: EB1D D5BF 6F88 820B BCF5 356C 8E94 C9CD 163E 3FB0 |

My issue is with the p2p "disk-2-mdisks" which is failing to restore a workable system when using "from-device". I was short on time and I did not try the other methods for "-mdst". If you have any idea of what I can try when I am back from holidays in september, to solve this issue.... Hi all- I recently had the pleasure of trying to figure out why my file system isn't mounted to something like /de/sda1 etc. I found out it is because of NVME. If I had know I would have got a computer with SATA SSD instead. I just wanted to report that [alternative stable-20220620-jammy](https://clonezilla.org/downloads/download.php?branch=alternative) didn't provide something similar to /dev/sda so I could select from source. I can't use AHCI or something like that either in my UEFI. It detected the partions but not the equivalent of /dev/sda for NVME. I hope you all know what this means because it is kinf of a foreign gizmo to me. I joined this list because I think clonezilla would be awesome for making backups, and I eagerly await a version where I can try a backup with NVME. I am using luckybackup rsync GUI and wasabi for the time being. THANKS Sent with [Proton Mail](https://proton.me/) secure email. |

Looks like the image was saved for partitions (saveparts), not for a whole disk (savedisk)? If you want Clonezilla to restore the whole disk, including the boot mechanism, you have to use "savedisk" to save the image. Hello, I am trying to use the bittorrent method to clone identical windows11 Dell AIO 7460 for a classroom. I have successfully used saveparts/restoreparts for a single machine restoration over NFSv3. [admin@ISB2022 2022-08-02-16-img]$ cat Info-saved-by-cmd.txt /usr/sbin/ocs-sr -q2 -c -j2 -z9p -i 0 -sfsck -scs -senc -p choose saveparts 2022-08-02-16-img sda1 sda2 sda3 sda4 client restoration through: ocs_prerun="mount -t nfs xxx:/home/partimag /home/partimag" ocs_live_run="/usr/sbin/ocs-sr -e1 auto -e2 -hn0 salle5 -c -t1 -r -e -j1 -k0 -scr -p reboot restoreparts 2022-08-02-16-img sda1 sda2 sda3 sda4" I am failing when using the bitorrent method to clone the "master" node from the device. master: ocs_live_run="ocs-live-feed-img -cbm local-boot-media -dm no-dhcpd -lscm massive-deployment -mdst from-device -bdt disk-2-mdisks -bsdf sfsck -e1 auto -e2 -c -t1 -r -e -j1 -k0 -scr -p reboot -md bittorrent start sda sda" clients: ocs_live_run="ocs-live-get-img xxxx" The clone phase succeed 30 machines over gb/s ethernet for about 2 hours, but the windows 11 clones fail to boot into win11 and windows 11 recovery fails to fix the boot. "Automatic repair failure" Is there something obvious I am missing between the two methods? Hi Gigi, Not sure if the Linux kernel does not support your hardware, or it's due to your hardware requires proprietary firmware. I tested 3.0.2-6 and it works on my old laptop. However, it does not work with my new laptop. I will do more tests to find why. I tried all but it doesn't work. After boot i press "s" key and enter, but it's mute also after some minute. I tried also to set default menu to Clonezilla Speech synthesis but result is same on three different pc. I'm totally blind and this feature is most important to use Clonezilla. Thanks for help Gigi |
