There are many backup image files in the directory. To make it easier for me to manage, I had zipped up the entire directory into 1 single file. Purpose is to prevent accidental deletion of backup image files in the backup directory. Since there are so many files in the backup directory, it would have been very easy to have accidentally deleted 1 or more files, rendering the backup unusable and unrestorable. I do not think we will change that. The reason for using a directory as an image is it's easier for us to expand or add new features. Everything in a directory is so clear and easy to identify its content. In GNU/Linux, a directory is just like a file. If you really need to make them as a single file, just tar it. Subject: Feature Request for Clonezilla Good day from Singapore, I notice that when Clonzilla clones harddisks, it generates many backup image files. Too many. Is it possible for Clonezilla to generate only 1 backup image file like what Acronis True Image/Cyber Protect Home Office does? Thank you. What did you mean by "clone CentOS Linux Server to Synology NAS device"? If you meant to save the image of your CentOS Linux to the NAS? i.e., NAS is your image repository? If so, just follow https://clonezilla.org//fine-print-live-doc.php?path=clonezilla-live/doc/01_Save_disk_image and choose the proper service (NFS, SSH, Samba...) your NAS provides in this step: https://clonezilla.org//clonezilla-live/doc/01_Save_disk_image/images/ocs-07-1-img-repo.png Steven On 1/22/2024 10:46 PM, Turritopsis Dohrnii Teo En Ming via Clonezilla-live wrote: > Subject: How do I clone CentOS Linux Server to Synology NAS device using Clonezilla? > > Good day from Singapore, > > How do I clone CentOS Linux Server to Synology NAS device using Clonezilla? cPanel web hosting control panel was installed on the CentOS Linux Server. > > If my memory did not fail me, it was a CentOS 7.9 Linux server. > > I am looking for a well-written guide that won't give conflicting instructions. > > Please advise. > > Thank you. > > Regards, > > Mr. Turritopsis Dohrnii Teo En Ming > Targeted Individual in Singapore > Blogs: > https://tdtemcerts.blogspot.com > https://tdtemcerts.wordpress.com > GIMP also stands for Government-Induced Medical Problems. > > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Clonezilla-live mailing list > Clo...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/clonezilla-live -- Steven Shiau <steven _at_ stevenshiau org> Public Key Server PGP Key ID: 4096R/163E3FB0 Fingerprint: EB1D D5BF 6F88 820B BCF5 356C 8E94 C9CD 163E 3FB0 |

Subject: How do I clone CentOS Linux Server to Synology NAS device using Clonezilla? Good day from Singapore, How do I clone CentOS Linux Server to Synology NAS device using Clonezilla? cPanel web hosting control panel was installed on the CentOS Linux Server. If my memory did not fail me, it was a CentOS 7.9 Linux server. I am looking for a well-written guide that won't give conflicting instructions. Please advise. Thank you. Hello, I am using clonezilla to restore sda or nvme imges through multicast. For sda everything is OK. For nvme on some models the first partition is well sent by udp-sender but for the second, on the client i have to kill udp-receiver. It is restarted and finish the work well. but as i killed the 2 second partition i only see 2 send of files on the udp-sender logs. I use the last clonezilla ubuntu based release. Hi Bob, OK, I confirmed this issue. This is due to Fedora has an extra path (/root/) for the root files system in the root partition. We will fix this in the next release. Hi, I'm blind and I apreciated the speech feature on Clonezilla. Therefore, it's don't work immediately after selected the relative voice on Grub start menu, but only user have been selected language and keyboard layout. I'm discovered this helping me with an instant OCR phone software such as Google Lookout. If it's possible speech must starts before language selection, please solve this issue. Cheers Gigi |
