Help Please - Butt Recording picking up from muted mic?

I have Butt 0.1.20, VB Banana 2.0.5.3 and a Foucusrite 4i4 Gen 3. + Windows 10.
Everything seems to work ok in my earphones and I can send a stream BUT if I record from either Butt or Banana SOMETIMES(?) my mic wont mute (it does in my earphones) or my faders wont work - so pulling a fader down will will appear to be ok in my headphones but on the recordings the mic and the stream come through at equal volume ... does anyone have any ideas?
