The version of moodle that is being enhanced to allow it to link to Bodington logbooks is v1.5. v1.5 supports login by shibboleth - for the Moodle Moot on aug 15 it would be great to demo using bod as IdP, going into moodle (SP) and then accessing bod logbook with no further ado. I should be able to do this so long as the quick-start war has Guan Xi built in. Can we confirm that this is the case? Also - if we're going to get Moodlers to try this out we need good configuration instructions so that the system is easy to set up. Moodle is an absolute piece of cake to get going - quick-start likewise, so we need to make GX just as simple. Is this possible? Could configuration be done over the web. Yep people could specify the port/ssl in which case it would be more robust. Is BodingtonURL in /util - don't have latest HEAD yet? If so, it would make sense to reuse that code. Antony Corfield wrote: > It's all up for discussion big boy! Well they aren't in UHI L&F at the moment so if they stay then they probably need to change to the new look and feel. At the moment step1big has support for informing users that they have cookies turned off (not in normal step1). And from a quick glance step2/3 give users a more guided login process. If we remove them then it would probably make sense to replace them with redirects to / so that people who have bookmarked them don't get 404s. > On 26 Jul 2005, at 13:48, Matthew Buckett wrote: > >> login_step1big links to login_step2 which links to login_step3 >> >> It seems that there are no longer any links to these pages from the >> main login page (login.html/login_step1.html). I noticed that in the new UHI L&F now the move and copy functionality now requires the full URL. Eg rather than: /admin/example you need to enter: http://full.server.name/bodington/site/example Although I prefer this (makes copy and paste easier). Could we have a bit of a heads up about changes like this as it is more than just changing the look and feel. Now if I try this on my test server with move, giving the URL: https://localhost:8443/bodington_head/site/test/ it fails to find the resource I am wanting to move. I have a fix for this that involves using BodingtonURL (Antony's class for QuickLink) to do the parsing of the pasted URL which is much more forgiving than the code in copyconfirm/moveconfirm (Facility.java). Is it ok to commit this stuff back? -- +--Matthew Buckett-----------------------------------------+ | VLE Developer, Learning Technologies Group | | Tel: +44 (0) 1865 283660 http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ | +------------Computing Services, University of Oxford------+ |

Yes, it's designed to automatically create links to files only in the root folder, others can be added by hand. For example, you could zip up website and create links to root files which in turn link to files lower down the tree i.e. don't want to create links to all nodes in the tree. One could use a check box to provide this as an option I suppose. |
