Using Linux Mint 20.2. I want to modify the paragraph tag shortcut to Alt Shift P. I hover over the menu entry for it and do Backspace and then the keys I want. Nothing happens. I tried to modify the file in ~/.bluefish that contains those shortcuts. After modification, opening the program changes it back to the original setting. Is it possible to modify shortcuts? If so, what might be wrong with what I'm doing? Or maybe I have a bug?

As far as I know the feature of creating shortcuts this way has been removed (certainly for valid reasons). Maybe I am wrong. I myself would like to see such a possibility in Bluefish (again). If you edit the file ~/.bluefish/menudump_2, you should probably do this while Bluefish is not running. I would guess that Bluefish rewrites all settings it has loaded at the beginning back into this file. Maybe Olivier can shed some light on this issue?

I finally did it the easy way. I changed the P to a G for my shortcut to open Gpodder, and use the builtin shortcut for paragraphs.
Another big help is that I'm mostly using Jekyll and markdown to make pages. I haven't been writing much html for awhile now, but bluefish is very nice for making quick edits to see how some code looks more quickly than edit and build and look etc. that is required for putting a change through Jekyll.

I'll keep subscribed to this thread to see if more light gets shed. Thanks for letting me know the feature was removed. I must have seen the old doc and it was troubling not to be able to make it work.

Yes, this is confusing, the current documentation/wiki still states to use the technique the OP mentions. Hopefully it can be updated to reflect the current behaviour. Or even be better, Bluefish can be updated to reflect the functionality described in the documentation/wiki!

the feature was removed from gtk, not from bluefish. But since bluefish uses gtk, it does no longer work...
