Awhile back, the same thing happened to my LG Voyager (VX10000): it quit working with Bluetooth; it'd connect but drop the connection as soon as I tried downloading SMS messages. I was able to determine it had to be the phone instead of Bitpim because it would no longer connect to my Bluetooth speakers, either. I could still connect to Bitpim using the USB cable, but the USB connector in my original phone had loosened up and was flaky (I use an external battery charger now to avoid wearing out the USB connector). Then here in this forum, someone else mentioned Verizon had just issued an automatic software update to Voyagers, and there were issues with the updated SW, which included an inability to connect using Bluetooth. So I went back to the Verizon store and the techs tried getting my phone to connect to their Bluetooth network, without success. They acted flabbergasted, insisting that was the first tiime they'd had such a complaint. They didn't have a replacement phone in stock so had to mail me one, which I received in a couple days, and which worked fine with Bluetooth. But half of the keyboard was not illuminated, so I had to take that phone back, too. By that time, the store had refurbished Voyagers back in stock, one of which I got, and which has been working great for the past 1-1/2 years. Interestingly, it seems to have the same software and Bluetooth version as my original phone: either Verizon hasn't been updating SW on Voyagers since then, or automatic updating was somehow turned off on my phone. Fine with me, since the phone works fine. SteveH ----- No virus found in this message. Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 10.0.1191 / Virus Database: 1435/3389 - Release Date: 01/18/11 |

It has been quite a while since I used bitpim. There have been a couple of bitpim and OS X software updates. Now, when I turn bluetooth on in the computer and the phone there is no detection. Since it used to work I know it can work, but I am at a loss as to what to do. I was able to delete the old computer ID from the phone and pair a new one to the computer, but that's it. The Bluetooth preference panel shows the phone is there but Not Connected. If I select the phone options to send a card it connects but then it drops the connection and that has nothing to do with bitpim. It has been so long since I did this I don't really have any idea what to do! |

Using Bitpim 1.0.7, I loaded photos from LG VX9700 phone and neglected to check "add" insted of "replace," so first batch of photos I loaded a few weeks ago were replaced. Can I get these back? system restore in windows did not help. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Restore-Bitpim-%22replaced%22-photos---LG-Dare---Windows-7-tp30673673p30673673.html Sent from the Bitpim - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

The version history for v 1.0.7 says "Bug fix: LG VX-9100: BitPim failed to read media index file. " but although there are 48 pictures on my card, I only see two empty directories in BitPim. (Is the Mac version developer still catching up?) Also, am not sure how much to update Python if necessary - am pretty sure what I have is 2.6 though I don't understand at all where the damn thing lives. Was installed a while back for another reason and to avoid some mild form of PTSD, all memories were repressed. MacBookPro OS 10.6.6 |

Used BitPim today on a Samsung M-300 and a Samsung R-351. The 300's photos were all transferred successfully. The 351 was rebooted, everything on it erased - photos, contacts, e-mails, history - the works. Roy |

Yes, I searched for those file names (the renamed one) and nothing comes up. That's when I looked in ~/.bitpim-files and saw: ├── bitpim.db ├── cache │ └── index.idx ├── ringer │ └── rowid └── wallpaper └── rowid Which leads me to believe all that stuff is in a database, since the only thing showing up in those directories are row ids... And what's worse is the LCD display is completely dead, so I can't really do anything manually with it, I was hoping Bitpim would solve this by giving me remote access to the data, however-- it's looking like this is not going to be the case. Just curious, why is SMS grayed out and not checkable inside the get data from phone window? I would like to try to retrieve the cell phone's text messages, but it appears this is not an option in bitpim. Also, if it turns out that I cannot successfully retrieve all the data from the phone without it giving that error, is there a way that I can access the photos that have been successfully saved? Sometimes "not responding" errors are caused by the phone being in an uncooperative state at the time you attach it to the data cable. Often you can eliminate those errors by powering the phone down and then powering it back up while still attached to the data cable. When it comes up in brand new session mode, it is often much more amenable to listening to cable commands. On Dec 28, 2010, at 3:03 PM, Patrick J. Hi everyone. I am on Mac OS X 10.6.5 (macbook pro), running bitpim 1.0.7. A friend of mine gave me his sprint SPH-A840 with hopes of me being able to retrieve some valuable stuff off of it (photos, audio recorings)... I was able to connect to the phone via /dev/cu.wwan, and attempted to get all of the data from the phone. I tried doing this about 3 times, and each time I got an error: > Device needs attention - SPH-A840 on /dev/cu.wwan > SPH-A840 on /dev/cu.wwan: The phone is not responding while manipulating the > phonebook. The entire log is at: http://collinatorstudios.com/www/bitpim_log.txt My question is, if the rest of the data is not retrievable, it seems that I should at least be able to access the many jpeg images that the log shows it successfully got and renamed... However, I am unable to locate where any of these files are on my system. If I look in ~/.bitpim-files, I see: .bitpim-files/ ├── bitpim.db ├── cache │ └── index.idx ├── ringer │ └── rowid └── wallpaper └── rowid Which I am assuming means the actual data is being stored in a database-- Though in bitpim itself, going into BitPim > Phone > Media > images or camera, I see nothing.. Hello, I have bitpim working perfectly (version 1.0.7) on my Windows XP SP3 workstation and it has allowed me to rescue most of the information from my son's water-damaged LG envTouch (VX11000). I can't seem to find any of the pictures that were attached to text messages. On my Windows phone they would be in a separate area under MMS but I am not sure where they would be stored on the envTouch. Can anyone help me locate these pictures?? Thanks in advance for any help. hi all, i checked the archives and there are a couple of mails about the KC910(i), but no real answers + the mails are rather old, so here goes : - is anyone using bitpim with the KC910 ? - since the device is officially not supported by bitpim this would imply that you need to select a 'lookalike' (i know, i know there are risks involved) but i'm unsure what LG would be the closest match. I'm guessing a 'cookie' maybe (KP500) ? all help is welcome ! grtz Thijs |

But now I get nothing for the outllok calendar moved to my phone. I have imported putlook to bitpim - no problem there. Can't send it to the phone. Bitpim seems to start fine, the phone shuts down and restarts, but no changes are transferred. I am using the "send data to phone" dialog. It only give me the "replace all" option for the calendar. The phone is detected, then restarted, then nothing. No calendar transfer and no error message. Log sample is attached. Thanks for any help Roney Roney Pate |

hi all, i checked the archives and there are a couple of mails about the KC910(i), but no real answers + the mails are rather old, so here goes : - is anyone using bitpim with the KC910 ? - since the device is officially not supported by bitpim this would imply that you need to select a 'lookalike' (i know, i know there are risks involved) but i'm unsure what LG would be the closest match. I'm guessing a 'cookie' maybe (KP500) ? all help is welcome ! grtz Thijs |
