Roger you rock! this is going to be one sweet little
app. I was able to upload images and download the file
system and phonebook. I also created a "shared"
directory (empty) under the brew directory on the
phone by uploading to the file system. 

I did have to retry many times, especially to get the
phonebook (even after getting the right com port
settings on the phone and computer--and I do seem to
need to keep telling the phone to use serial as it has
been reverting to the usb or closed settings). 

When it fails, I am getting these unhandled
exceptions:

CommsException: LG-VX4400: Unable to transition mode
from brew to modem

Note: sometimes instead of from brew to modem it says
from none to modem. 

The log trace in the case where it is unable to
transition mode from brew to modem seems to indicate
that bitpim is in the process of trying different data
rates and then timing out, so all this seems like its
triggered by some kind of comms flakiness though there
may be other issues.

Anyway,

0.2 is now available at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=75211

The source code is now in SourceForge CVS.

Changes in 0.2

- Fixed the issue of wallpapers inside a certain size range causing image load failures 
  in the user interface.  (I had thought this was about gifs only - it wasn't.)  All image
  sizes and types should work.
  
- Wallpapers that are resized won't have a one pixel wide black line in the framing area. 

- Phonebook is now saved to disk when read. 

- The underlying plumbing for the phonebook has been sorted out which will make editing 
  it possible soon
