Hello, I believe i may be able to offer some assistance in making some of bitpims features useable with the Motorola V3c. I would try to do some work myself, but i am not very educated in python. If somebody would like me to assist them in adding features, or just provide me with details as to how to accomplish this myself, i would be happy. i have already discovered how it may be possible to allow people to edit the t9 (iTap) dictionary in bitpim. Thanks Alot, Bman22 |

Has there been any new progress made on this phone? I'd like to be able to obtain the SMS, call history and PhoneBook if possible. I just tried one yesterday in 1.0.6 (WinXP) and noted the following information. When run as Other CDMA, it will download the file system. However, the back up entire tree will not function from the root folder. Each node below the root will back up using the backup entire tree selection, when each node is selected individually. I tried running it in each of the LG selections with both COM port variations. Each failed although a couple appeared to be working prior to failure. I posted some feedback last month for the Sprint Muziq LG LX-570 phone. I mentioned that I have run into a problem were only 60 contacts max can be imported from Bitpim to my Muziq. *Has anyone else experienced this problem on any other phones? If so do you have a work-a-round suggestion? * I am using Bitpim 1.0.7.20080908 test version Thanks, Ed. |

The corporation I work for just gave me a brand new LG KF600 (I am in the UK, in case that is important). I have used BitPim for a couple other LG phones and love it. Is there another Phone similar enough to the KF600 (I am guessing it is a European version of a US phone) that I could try? Thanks a million! Jack |

You really should read the requirements and instructions , not too mention the numerous other posts on this exact issue. It can not be included as it is a Microsoft Software - you can download it from various places on the net. Joe Pham asked for feedback in mid-August for the LX570 Muziq (sometimes written as Musiq) Tried BitPim 1.0.6 and it did connect OK, and discovered my Muziq phone through the USB cable connected to an eMachines model w3609 destop running Vista. I was not able to get my XP laptop to discover the Muziq cell phone using version 1.0.6 My goal was to export vcard contacts from my gmail contacts to Bitpim, then to my Muziq. Version 1.0.6 was only pushing a handful of my 65 vcard contacts. I noticed that there was a bug fix specifically for what I was working on in the 1.0.7 Bitpim test version. Bug fix: LG LX-570: BitPim failed to read all contact entries. Installed 1.0.7.20080908 test version and had much better results. The 1.0.7 test version log showed that Bitpim finds and reads all my contacts flawlessly, but it has trouble writting back over 60 contacts. The log shows says that it is appending all 66 contacts, but when I check the Muziq contacts list it has a max of 60 contacts no matter what I try. It loses the last 6 contacts. next, deleted 1 single contact from my Bitpim phonebook, so I had 65 contacts in my phonebook in Bitpim, then pushed the contacts to the Muziq. Bitpim in turn found and deleted that 1 contact from the LX-570 (which I thought was pretty cool). I only had 59 contacts in the Muziq. I was assuming it would have added one more contact back up to 60 max, but it didn't. I immediatly pushed the phonebook data again to the Muziq and this time there was 60 contacts in the Muziq. It had filled in the one deleted space this time. Not sure why it can't get over 60 though. Note: when I push the phonebook data I am only allowed to "Replace All", the "Add" checkbox is not allowed. I haven't tried the test version 1.0.7.20080908 on the XP laptop yet. I can do that soon. Joe, if you want me to test any other features please let me know. Ed Hendrickson Jr. Ames, Iowa |

I have an lgvx9100 env2 for a month. When I connect to bitpim and the phone is read, it shows all the media folders except the music(sd). Will this be fixed in future versions of bitpim? Also the contacts don't show the photo wallpaper or allow changes in it. |

Luke, Have you tried to view the file system on this phone? Under the View Menu on the Menu bar you will see a View Filesystem Selection second from the bottom of the drop down menu. When you select that it will add a Filesystem Icon above the Log in the GUI. Click on the Icon and it will open a new explorer tree view for the file system. Click on the folder at the top of the new view window and it will retrieve the file system data. Some of the filesystem components will then be available to export by right clicking on the item and choosing "backup directory" and/or "backup entire tree". That should at least allow you to download some data from the phone. Don L. ________________________________ From: Luke [mailto:sec...@co...] Sent: Tuesday, October 14, 2008 11:02 PM To: bit...@li... Subject: [BitPim-devel] Samsung SCH-u550 on available on BitPim Phone Wizard Is it possible for someone to be able to develop code for the Samsung SCH-u550 carried by Verizon Wireless? When I try letting the auto-detection work, it finds "other CDMA phone on COM 17". When I try to "Get Phone Data", none of the options to download are available ('greyed out'). I have tried changing the settings to SCH-u470 and SCH-u740, yet both times I get an exception error where the last line is d = -1 in detecting the phone. This unexpected exception is with the latest beta version. I get the same problem with 1.0.6 also. I'll paste that 'unexpected exception' below the first one using SCH-u740 settings. Below that is the "Log" in my BitPim folder. I've been able to use this program before with my older Samsung SCH-a930 cell phone, and yet my data cable is able to recharge the battery to the new phone (SCH-u550) also, and the 'auto-detection' mode of BitPim finds "other CDMA phone on COM 17, so I believe the data cable should be fine. Is it possible for someone to be able to develop code for the Samsung SCH-u550 carried by Verizon Wireless? I've downloaded from Samsung the drivers SCH-U550 <http://www.samsung.com/us/support/download/supportDownDetail.do?group=mobil ephones&type=com.sec.dotcom.support.to.DownloadCompareTO@1195848&subtype=ver izonwireless&model_nm=SCH-U550&language=&cate_type=all&mType=SW&dType=D&vTyp e=R&cttID=1866918&prd_ia_cd=01010400&disp_nm=SCH-u550> Samsung USB Driver (MCCI 4.34) WHQL v3.4 (ver.4.23 v3.4) for the phone and set the settings for SCH-u470 again with the same results. That exception is below also. BitPim version: 1.0.7.20080908-Test An unexpected exception has occurred. Please see the help for details on what to do. Hi developers. Sorry for me to bother you. I develop plug-in for Sanyo phones in C++, but I cannot understand why one command is sent to device for acquisition SMS, Call history and Phone book. I do not know piton and I do not understand how these features are acquired. Please, explain me. best regards, Andrew |

Firmware V06 has been released for the vx9100, but since the file is over 50 megs it's not being updated via FOTA. I've seen a few mentions on some phone boards about people having problems with BitPim after having their vx9100's updated, either by Verizon stores or by doing it themselves. (One poster said a Verizon rep told him that FOTA was only going to be used for updates requiring 30 seconds or less to download.) I'm waiting on getting mine updated until I get an 'all clear' on compatibility with BitPim. |

The phone will accept a phone number up to 48 digits in length. I forgot to adjust the number length in convertphonebooktophone. Hi all, I've been using Bitpim for a while, but haven't hacked on it at all. I was wondering, what would be the easiest way to get the plain text version of memos from my phone programatically? Would it be to use the command line like [ bitpim "ls phone:..." ]? Would it be to sync to my desktop then extract them from the bitpim.db file? Wrap a bitpim library with python? Or export them from bitpim somehow? I tried doing a File->Print to Html but got an exception ('MemoWidget' object has no attribute 'get_keys'). I can send that stack trace if it would help. For reference I'm using Bitpim 1.0.6-official on WinXP and have a LG-VX8700. Thanks, Dustin |

I am ready to start working on development for extending bitpim to my own new phone. It is a Sanyo Katana Eclipse (SCP-6750), working on Sprint. I would like to correspond with anyone else who might already have started to work on it, so we can share the workload. Thanks! |

Developers, Hi there, my name is Rick and am working on getting a new phone compatible with BitPim. Since I picked up the new LGVX-9900, I've been toying around with little luck. The phone connects to BitPim fine and dandy, but when I try to use some BREW commands, I get errored responses. I first guessed that they had changed the commands around a bit on this new phone. My solution: write a small script to throw random commands and see what works. The problem is, once my script gets the phone into brew mode, I can no longer communicate with it. My question: How do I communicate with the phone once its in BREW mode? I have tried to look threw the BitPim code for this but with no luck. Any help? Thanks Rick |
