on FreeBSD anymore!!!

Hi,

We have gtk2-2.24.32 in ports.

The issue only reproduces with FreeBSD-12.

Works fine on FreeBSD-11 with exactly the same libraries.

I suspect the issue is generic to FreeBSD-12 for now.
