Metadata dialog off by default, which is mentioned on that page, is a 
quick easy fix, and I am very inclined to do that fix.
Doing more for meta data I think needs review of metadata bugs. 
Developers work most effectively when they work on several aspects of 
one feature, so to lobby better, perhaps on the talk page collect a 
bugzilla report table on metadata bugs/issues.
