This is the same as what shift+mousewheel (or shift + two fingered vertical swipe) has long done. And I verified that the same is also done with the thumb wheel of the Logitech MX Master mouse, on MacOs. I tried the MX Master on Windows 7 too, but it did not always work, and I did not figure out why. I have not tried it with Windows 10. The thumb wheel need not be mentioned, but I think it is good to mention the touch pad enhancement.
