No I don't normally (as native Mac will not record streaming audio and
I cannot be bothered to download Soundflower and play with it).

In the course of today I have carried out many Timer Records on the Mac and
never
has it failed to obey the set stop time.  I do find myself wondering if
these reports are
down to finger-trouble with teh spinner controls.  We know they are easily
nudged
and upset - Koz has suffered with this and I did it a couple of times
today, but I am in
the habit of carefully checking the settings before pressing the "go
button".

Yes, he is correct in that and I have logged that as a Mac bug

It does not happen on W10, I can't speak for Linux.
