Audacity does not use the VST SDK to load VST plugins, because the license of the SDK (which forbids redistribution of the source code) is incompatible with the GPL (which requires distribution of the source code). The VST support in Audacity is implemented via the reverse engineered Vestige header - see src/effects/VST/aeffectx.h in the Audacity source code. Unless this provides suitable functions for accessing preset store/load functionality, we can't add this to Audacity. Richard |
