[Audacity-devel] QT?

I have simple question to the developers and I am asking it here because
googling for it told me little. Has porting Audacity to QT been considered
by the developers?

I am asking because using QT seems to be a current trend at the moment
amongst open source project (for instance Subsurface was recently ported:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON0A1dsQOV0).

PS: I do realise porting to QT would be quite a huge task to do, I am
asking mostly out of curiousity.
