Measuring the impulse response of things is something that we can do well (I believe) with the 'Aurora' plugins, which assumes that your system is linear. We don't currently ship Aurora plugs, but they exist as source code at https://code.google.com/p/aurora-for-audacity/ and I have been using them to record impulse responses, and therefore frequency responses, for some time now (and the reverb of spaces). My build of that is at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1327769/Aurora.zip but you have to interpret the instructions into 'Audacity' for yourself as I have not around to writing those. One day. Basically it goes, for a linear system: Impulse -> system -> impulse responses Impulse -> filter -> system -> inverse filter -> impulse response and Aurora generates the 'Impulse -> filter' and allows you to do the 'inverse filter' bit. > > Super cool.
