And neither ordering is really satisfactory in any case, because it's a 
table rather than a list. 

Does anyone have a preference among the lists I posted a while ago:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/User:Windinthew/Multi-column_lists ?

I think these are all more maintainable? 

Both David B and I favour "3 A single list wrapped with margin-left and
negative margin-top" (assuming earlier IE can't be made to work with 
the fourth option). 

If we can decide, then all that is needed is to put the coloured styling  
and faux table back (if we even want that).
