Hi, and sorry for not responding sooner to these messages.

The best way to keep up with changes in the program and the
documentation is to use CVS.  This page has instructions for accessing
the Audacity CVS repository:

If any translators would like to create SourceForge accounts, we can
also give you access to check in PO files and documentation yourselves
(so that you don't need to e-mail them to me).

I would definitely like to create localized versions.  This will require
help from other developers to create localized Windows and Mac builds.

For now, I can upload the HTB file to the web site, and you can add a
link and instructions on the German "help" page.
