Someone has to get portmidi figured out on Unix before USE_MIDI is 
turned on. It only compiles on Unix --without-midi (this means that if 
you check out SVN HEAD and `./configure && make` the build fails). At 
SVN HEAD portmidi's build system is not fleshed out, and audacity's 
build system doesn't even know it exists.
