I am seeing this as well (have been for a little while, but not had time
to try and diagnose).

That's certainly not what I'm seeing - even if I minimise audacity and
restore it, use menus etc, still no response to the keyboard.

I've tried this with the control toolbar completely hidden, floated and
docked into the main window, with no change in the symptoms (the above
is true, but once amplify has been applied, it doesn't matter what has
the focus, nothing gets processed).
