You have to either rename them to "m4a", do the equivalent of "Open With...", or specifically load them from within iTunes to get them to load. But, they do play fine. When exporting, if you change the extension from mp4 to m4a, you get the expected warning, but it exports just fine and it can be double clicked in Finder to have it played in iTunes. What's interesting is that nothing other than the extension was changed and the files a bit different. I know this is expected behavior, but I wonder if we shouldn't ought to include an "m4a" in the format list. Also, it doesn't appear that the "Options" are being applied correctly. I'd selected bitrate=8, samplerate=96000, and profile=LTP. iTunes reports it as 128kbps, 96000, and Low Complexity. Leland |
