Hi A checkbox "Do not modify audio device settings (such as sample rate)" used to be provided in Audio I/O preferences on Mac so that Audacity did not get too adventurous with quality and bit rate settings that other apps. on Mac could not cope with. For anyone unfamiliar with this, see: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mac_Bugs#Loss_of_sound_after_running_Audacity But a user on Mac is reporting on the Forum that neither 1.3.5 or 1.3.3 have this box, and I can't see it in the source code, despite it being mentioned as a known issue in README.txt. Was some conscious decision taken to remove this, if so on what grounds, as it is AFIK a permanent issue on Mac: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5064 I did search -devel list but found nothing except the decision to introduce the box in 1.2.5/6. Thanks Gale |
