I also agree with LRN's eight bullet points. I honestly can't really find
any way to improve them, and if nobody else disagrees, we could use them as
a basis for moving forward. However, that looks like a whole lot of work,
and I think we need to break the task into chunks that can be tackled one at
a time. I'm going to take some time going over the code and doing some
research on how I can get this started.
