Gale Thanks for that, I can now see the problem. I have updated http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Release_Checklist#Essential_fixes with what I saw (I hope I formatted it etc OK, I'm still new to wikis) (and apologies to all for the length). I'm hoping that people more familiar with AutoRecovery code will be able to contribute here. Markus? Martyn PS Reporting problems is much easier than fixing them, ain't it? But a similar process if you dig deep enough, which I clearly haven't here. Is this a minimal case to reproduce the bug?
