I'd like to avoid an extra preference if it can be done and satisfy everyone. Another possibility is to make Ctrl-B optional - if there isn't already a label at the current selection. That's no loss from my perspective as it would be very rare for me to want to create two labels on the same track at the same position. For those who do want to create a second label in the same place, whilst Ctrl-B is not that discoverable, the alternative of creating a new label elsewhere and dragging it to the same position certainly is discoverable. It seems to me that this would solve the specific problem of wanting to keep the focus on the label track and the current label selected, after typing the label and enter, and that it would also give me the easy creation of labels that I want, using the mouse keys I prefer. I think that solves it for everyone. Does that look like a solution to you too? --James.
