Hi James, hi Richard, thanks for the feedback. I certainly don't want to hold things back on the release. It's in everybody's interest to see some of the great new beta features move into a new stable release. > (1) The 'mix to new track' suggests a more general option that any > 'effect' can be rendered to a new track, with the original tracks all > being muted.... We often edit long pieces of audio, and it's impractical to listen to the whole thing just to check for distortion, so we need to be able to do a final check for distortion somehow. Does anybody have a view how this should be implemented in audacity? I'd be keen to hear other people's thoughts. > > (2) PlayStopSelect could go in, if as I think it is, it's a keyboard > shortcut only and not a menu item. Yes, keyboard only. > (3) No export of muted tracks has often been requested and is something > I'd like to see in 1.3.4/1.4. > > > I've looked briefly over the code, and it looks pretty safe. If you let me know any special requirements I should know about your CVS, I'd be happy to do this. I'm happy to look into issues arising - bearing in mind that I'm a newcomer to the code. > If you then decide you want to continue making further additions to > Audacity, please talk about what you want to do on the list first and we > can move to a less temporary arrangement. I'll post some thoughts separately. All the best, Bjoern |
