Hi Gale, I don't know anything about the files you mentioned, I was simply exploring, checking what was available where. My computer behavior changed after I clicked on cancel. Now okay and cancel buttons are no longer there - more specifically as I wrote in my post, tab and shift-tab trigger that error-ding sound. I haven't used this facility before so haven't needed to verify the files/locations you mentioned. When I wanted to import an audio track into an existing one I've always used control+i.
