| From Dominic Mazzoni <do...@au...> | Mon, 9 Jul 2007 22:02:22 -0700 | Subject: [Audacity-devel] Paid sysadmin positions? | I'd like to toy with the idea of paying someone, or multiple people, | to do sysadmin / maintenance tasks on our websites. Possible tasks | would include: | * Wiki | - Upgrade software to latest version | - Remove spam and upate spam blacklists | - Occasional reorganization I'm already doing a lot on the Wiki removing spam and blocking spammers (along with Matt and "Suf"), as well as tidying/improving and trying to add stuff from help list archives. If appropriate and I can be given whatever additional access I need, I'd be happy to help. Maybe it would take an extra 30 minutes to an hour per day on top of what I do already? What do you mean by updating spam blacklists - all I know about at present is http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Special:Ipblocklist which is automatic? But I think you said we could update the Wiki software so that spam terms were automatically blocked, which would certainly help? While we are discussing it - do we need the main page and the redirect to the home page (can we have home page, not main page in the side panel?); and Community Portal seems pointless to me and almost never used except for spam. What was the intention of it - as a place for user pages? I just added a link to user pages on the Home Page as they are not easily discoverable. If people have ideas on features and functions of the Wiki they normally use the Talk section of the Home Page and that seems fine to me at any rate. Gale Outbound message virus free.
