Hi I can't repeat the problem here (VS8 on my new PC, XP SP2 etc). Martyn In a message dated 20/06/2007 08:35:56 GMT Standard Time, da...@64... writes: Hello Audacity team! Long time no hear from, you might say. Audacity has been working so well I can't remember how many years it's been since I reported a bug :-) We've been testing Audacity 1.3.3 for inclusion in the custom distro we're building for the Trinity portable DAW. I've run into a quirk today and was curious if anyone else has seen it, or can reproduce it. Here are the steps... 1. Open a new instance of Audacity 2. Go to File -> Import Audio and choose a stereo WAV file 3. Select a few seconds at the beginning of the track, using the mouse 4. Hit the 'z' key to find the zero crossings 5. Do an Edit -> Cut 6. Now the play button no longer works, you have to quit and restart to get it working again. If you leave out the 'z' key step then things work as normal. Or, if you select any other audio than the first part of the track, it's OK. I suspect the zero crossing detection is trying to find a point before the start of the track, as the two little white arrows appear to show that the track has been moved back before the start of the timeline. There are no relevant errors in the terminal. Test platform is 64 Studio 1.4.0 (Debian Etch amd64) with the Audacity 1.3.3 package backported from Sid. Please let me know if you need any more info. Cheers!
