This is interesting. I've just tested Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, MP3 and MP2

FLAC: metadata is written, but year tag is missing, though specified
in the dialog
MP2: metadata is written, but track number is missing, though
specified in the dialog
MP3: metadata is written, but track number is missing, though
specified in the dialog
Ogg Vorbis: metadata is missing

I think we could still get rid of mentioning MP3 explicitely.
