Concerning the CVS handling: 1) When I do a CVS update it finishes fairly quick like yours does. 2) But it is no good, it won't get me the new stuff so I did a complete new checkout and that took almost 30 minutes. Concerning building: Seems like I am not the only one that can no longer build Audacity then. I really hope someone can step in and fix this! Best regards, Bo Berglund _____ From: Mar...@ao... I can get as far as LINK : fatal error LNK1146: no argument specified with option '/LIBPATH:' Have tried one or two things to fix it, but to no avail. This was with versions other than Unicode_Release, that gives Compiling... ExportMP2.cpp ..\src\export\ExportMP2.cpp(71) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'twolame.h': No such file or directory but fixing that gives the same problem. Overall, looks like a problem with the MP2 inclusion (I could easily be wrong), but I've no idea how to fix it. I think you should forget about the ASIOSDK and DXSDK messages and set your system back how it was, as far as this is concerned. As far as the time to update is concerned, I did a CVS update and it only took about 3 minutes (and I don't think my connection is as fast as yours); having said that it doesn't work either. At least I didn't have to wait so long! There must be some bottleneck in your connection. Now I wanted to do it again after updating to HEAD from CVS but it failed. So I checked out fresh like I had to do 6 days ago. Took almost 30 minutes... Next I looked in the win/compile.txt file and found the new instructions about the environment variables for ASIOSDK and DXSDK, which I added and set to c:\ as instructed since I have no idea where to get them from. But it still won't build audacity... What exactly should I get? And the DirectX SDK, where is that supposed to come from? Are my linking errors at all related to the missing 2 SDK:s? Notice that I don't usually work with VS2005, I only installed it to compile Audacity and a few other OpenSource products. So I am not familiar with tricks you can do in the IDE...
