For now, I've updated the page with some provisos about use, primarily that an entry does not constitute endorsement. Also: brevity, no pricing info, and alphabetized listings. I also merged the turntables listing and added another, for the M-Audio/Pinnacle/Avid Podcast Factory. We've also heard recently from a couple of vendors with upcoming products. > Yes also I think when we get asked (quite often) for permission > from vendors to bundle Audacity with their product we can suggest > they add themselves to VendorsThatBundle ; and if vendors selling > an audio product (including software) ask for a genuine reciprocal > link similarly we will now suggest they add themselves to our > SitesThatRecommendAudacity page. As you point out, it's more about tutorials, etc. I don't see how it's more genuinely reciprocal to have a link to them there -- both pages are editable. I don't see much functional difference between ProductsThatRecommendAudacity and VendorsThatBundleAudacity. For now, I think we should just keep it simple. > A ProductsThatRecommendAudacity page might also be seen as a > bit more of a reward for vendors that recommend us than being > pushed onto a more general page? > Not gettin' you, my friend. How is ProductsThatRecommendAudacity less general than VendorsThatBundleAudacity? Seems more general as a category. Restricted editing? Then it probably shouldn't be on the Wiki. Products that we truly endorse we'll add to AudacityStore, and possibly resell. > | I've been working on some similar relationships with other vendors, > | especially regarding AudacityStore.com, so you can just direct them to > | me, or please let me work with you, with them. > > Yes if the wraps are off AudacityStore now, and a vendor asks if we > can consider being an outlet for their product I will send them to you > directly. Yes, please send those inquiries to me, and absolutely, we'll consider being a reseller for products we endorse. We haven't explicitly discussed selling software, but I don't see why not. > > | also please send me the Ion/Numark contacts. > > I have only corresponded with this person about purely technical > support matters to do with the turntables: > > Steve Bongivengo > Alesis/Numark/Akai/Ion Audio > Technical Support > 200 Scenic View Dr. > Suite 201 > Cumberland, RI 02864 > sbo...@nu... > > Phone 401-658-5760 > Fax 401-658-3640 > > WWW.ALESIS.COM > WWW.NUMARK.COM > WWW.ION-AUDIO.COM > WWW.AKAIPRO.COM > > > Gale > > Okay, thanks, I'll follow up.
