Hello, The recent discussions of label issues prompts me to ask about some label related issues. Please forgive and point me to the right place to ask about this, if this group is not it. I do (or will be doing) a lot of annotation (labeling) of recorded Japanese speech, with the annotations in Japanese. I am using 1.3.0b (on Windows 2000 with a Japanese locale, cp-932 charset) for this now and it sort of works but there are some annoying problems: - When an Audacity project is saved and reloaded, labels are corrupted. - Editing labels using the backspace key shows that there is some byte/character confusion in the code -- one delete changes the character to something weird, a second deletes it completely. - Certain characters typed into the label editor are processed as shortcuts, causing undesired popups and preventing entry of certain characters. - Crashes while entering/editing labels are frequent. I looked in Bugzilla, and didn't see anything that sounded liike these issues, except for 243 [Pressing 'backspace' when adding a new label crash]. Are these known issues that have been, or are likely to be, fixed in the next release? BTW, athough there are some problems, using Audacity to do the labeling is usable. CoolEdit 2000 fails to handle Japanese characters completely. So kudos to the Audacity developers!! |
