I'm interested in implementing the suggestions shown for cross-fading in your Summer of Code project. I realise that I've missed any deadline, but would like to help anyway. I have quite a lot of C/C++ coding experience, most of it under linux, so I expect I should be able to get to grips with the source, but if there's anything I should note or be careful not to break, I'd always be grateful to be told. Equally, if there's something that I need to do not to break Win32 compatibility or whatever, I'd love to hear before... I've been in some correspondance with Dominic Mazzoni, and suggested that it would be nice to also have the capability to do S-shaped (cosine) curves and exponential curves as well as just linear fades, but I guess that's "second generation", once it's all working. Before I go off and start typing, one more thing - the one thing that seems to have been deprecated and removed in the new wxWindows code that we cant use is wxMilliSleep. For some reason, their even older declaration of wxUsleep doesn't appear to have disappeared. Any ideas? Or is it actually possible to get the timing function from the new version of wxWindows?
