Hi everyone, following requests from many users I have created a Python program which is able to connect the .au files which are left in the temp directory when Audacity crashes during long recordings. The utility essentially tries to do what users have done by hand or by creating substitute .aup files. It can be found here http://www.mesw.de/audacity/recovery It uses wxPython for the GUI. Please test! If it works I'd like to put it on our SourceForge space and place a link on the homepage (say, on the FAQ or so). I was only able to write this utility because 1.2.x uses incremental numbers for blockfiles. This highlights the fact that we really need a real recovery plan before 1.3 is released, because with the new dirmanager, the numbers are random (or just use the old incremental naming style for the new dirmanager, as long as the files are in the main data directory and not in subdirectories).
