The "Add label at selection" menu option will be accessible via a > button there, Transcription toolbar - nice idea. Add label can already be done without the menu using a little known feature (which was there before my changes) - click a selection on the label track and just start typing, and a label will appear. It might be worth alerting the user to this possibility in some way visually, as it's not very 'discoverable' as things stand. Unfortunately I can't see a good way to alert the user at the moment. If we show a blank label as soon as there is a selection on the label track, I think it would be too intrusive. Any bright ideas as to how to make this 'discoverable'? Whilst we're at it, 'Silence' also deletes a label, if the selection includes part of it, which perhaps has some relevance to the great silence/delete/cut debate :-) --James |
