Can anyone else > reproduce it? Definitely. I can reproduce this via: Start Audacity. Generate Tone. Set Project Rate to 48.000 Set Track Rate to a lower samplerate, like 11.250, 16000 and the output will be distorted. Needless to say I tried switching off dithering etc. to avoid the problem, to no avail. As always, it only happens with the High Quality Sync converter. There are two different kinds of noises I can generate: 1) Continuous superimposed noise: E.g. for track rate 11.250 and project rate 48kHz you get constant "knacks" in the sound. For 8.000 Hz track rate a very high tone is generated over the original sound. 2) Blip at beginning of track only: For track rate 44.1kHz and project rate 48kHz I get _at the start_ of the track a very short "blip", but then everything is fine. Note that this is _not_ the blip one gets always when not fading in a sound, but a blip you can see in the waveform which lasts, say 50 or 100 samples or so. I can provide both Audio samples and screenshots for these problems, if you request. I also can offer SSH access to my Linux / RH9 box, if that helps. I'm on a DSL line (flatrate). Markus |
