I need help. Filtering the Audacity mailing lists has become a part-time job. So far in June the lists have received about 200 messages that are caught by SF's mail filter - either they're too large (usually a virus/worm like Klez) or they're not sent by a list member (now that it's a members-only list). In the past week it's been getting worse - more than 10 a day. Every single message triggers an email - currently going to my inbox, and requires me to click on a link, type in the list password, scroll through the page, click on a tiny radio button for "delete", and then hit "Submit". It's 10 times more annoying than deleting a normal spam/virus, cause I can't just hit a "delete" button. If there's more than one message, I only have to type the password once, but the interface is still very clumsy - no way to quickly see all of the message subjects and senders on one page and click "delete all". I'm hoping for: 1. Someone to help set up a very simple, very reliable email forwarder to a list of a few volunteers to receive these emails, so I don't have to be the only one doing the filtering. and/or: 2. Someone to write some scripts to automatically filter out the majority of the viruses/spam, by actually writing a script to go to the Mailman interface, analyze the HTML, and send the appropriate form response. If you've done some perl hacking before, using wget or curl, this shouldn't be that bad. - Dominic |
