Fine - we can have it in the 1.3 release candidate, and then see what it
does with users. Provided nothing lethal emerges we put the multichannel
export into 1.4

Makes sense - multi-channel playback can definitely be separate from
multi-channel export, so having one and not the other isn't a problem
(although it will increase demand for multi-channel playback and
recording, it is useful independent of them).
