Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=2616009 By: jthaden Applied Biosystems/MDS/Sciex Analyst (v. 1.3.1) software comes with a TRANSLAT.EXE utility that converts its internal (.wiff) data files to NetCDF, apparently of the AnDI for mass spec (ASTI E2077-00) flavor, but results from LC-MS/MS experiments are basically chromatographic data. If instead they were in NetCDF files of the AnDI for chromatographic data (ASTI E1947-98) protocol, then we could import them into other CDS software we own and work with them in various powerful ways. Any suggestions on how we might accomplish this? Has anyone written a 2077=>1947 translator? Is this a reasonable 5-week project for a summer intern computer major? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=2115592 By: pcbrefugee Thanks very much! It's probably a bit galling to see yet another old-style implementation... oh well, hopefully it's a first step to an implementation of something modern. Speaking of which, have you had a look at the Sashimi project? (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/sashimi/) - it's an effort out of the Institute for Systems Biology to put together an XML schema for raw MS data. My company (www.insilicos.com) is helping out by providing a viewer for the mzXML format, I may add ANDI netCDF input as well (the ANDI work is actually for a research grant, but it's easy to throw it in to the viewer). It might be good if these XML efforts were combined somehow - extending the schema for more than raw data, etc. Jimmy Eng is the guy to contact there - or perhaps you already have. Just FYI, anyway. Thanks again! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=2114445 By: pcbrefugee One of the goals stated in the presentation was the reissue of the long lost source for reading and writing ANDI CDF files (many references on the net to ftp.sjo.appliedbiosystems.com, but it's down of course). I need to implement a CDF data reader (MS data, that is), does anyone have that ms10.h etc code handy? Thanks! (I know, this isn't very forward looking, but the files already exist in the .CDF format...) ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
