Hi Tom, very weird ! Could you check that you haven’t accidentally activated the German Umlaute package. That would be (when you are in TeX mode) in the Alpha ↣ TeX Mode Setup ↣ Features panel. If not, could you check your Keyboard setting in the Alpha ↣ Preferences ↣ Global Preferences ↣ International panel ? Hi all, For those who are interested in the progress of Alpha development, I will now make available, from time to time, intermediate builds of the application. They are referred to as DevBuilds. So I have just uploaded a developer build of Alpha. This is Alpha 9.0.1_devbuild ("Miram") for Mac OS X 10.9 or greater. This is not a final release. It is meant for developers and beta testers. Disclaimer: it reflects the current state of the source code and should be used only for testing the most recent features. It has been built with the sources at revision 1530 in the Subversion repository at SourceForge. Version: 9.0.1 (devel) Date: 2018-09-18 Build: 7907 Revision: 1530 See at the end of this message, the main changes contained in this developer release. Thinking more about this, the core startup error you see is certainly a different one (than described in this ticket) and it is probably the indication that the core of the application must be recompiled. I've been observing something similar after a Developer checkout on another machine with an Alpha whose core was out of date: a recent new linkvar (printerFont) was the culprit because linkvars assume some sort of link between the core and the library. --- ** [tickets:#176] very bad problem while sourcing the file "AlphaPostGuiStartup.tcl"** **Status:** fixed **Created:** Fri Jul 06, 2018 02:20 PM UTC by Jonathan E. I just made an observation that surprised me and confirms a loading problem. Whatever the state of the math menu (expanded or compressed), by clicking on the drop down menu, there is only 3 items: math mode, math style and math environnement. Hi Enrico, thank you for reporting this. The *iterationCount* command is an emacs-ish feature which was available in AlphaX and has not been ported to the new Alpha, so the documentation is just a bit out of date. In replacement, there could be a menu command *Add Items...* (along with the already existing *Add Item*) that would prompt the user for the number of items. Anyway, the commands to enter an *itemize* or *enumerate* environment already ask this. I'll correct the Latex Guide. --- ** [tickets:#177] iterationCount and Ctrl-U** **Status:** open **Created:** Fri Jul 27, 2018 09:08 AM UTC by Enrico Gregorio **Last Updated:** Fri Jul 27, 2018 09:08 AM UTC **Owner:** nobody The TeX mode help file mentions “iterationCount” (end of page 18), but there is no binding of Ctrl-U in TeX mode and no such function that I can see. --- Sent from sourceforge.net because alp...@li... is subscribed to https://sourceforge.net/p/alphacocoa/tickets/ To unsubscribe from further messages, a project admin can change settings at https://sourceforge.net/p/alphacocoa/admin/tickets/options. Hello Bernard, the problem occurs every time I open Alpha. I work mostly on latex files, and latex mode is enabled. As long as I do not clicked on one of the following options in the Latex Menu Option: Expand Math Menu, Compress Math Menu, Expand Text Menu, Compress Text Menu, some of latex shortcuts are not active, for instance the greec letters: control-m ..., or control-command-p, .... the shortcut control-command-s doesn't active the \sum{}{}, but causes the corresponding action in text mode: it returns an error annoncement "file.tex is not a file windows". However, some other latex shortcuts are active, for example shift-command-e for choosing an environnement, or control-option-s for \textsl{}. It seems to me that some of the latex shortcuts are not loaded until I have clicked on one of the Latex Menu Option. Sorry for my poor english, and thank you for your interest in this problem. I can't get this to work. (I didn't try developer check-out since July.) I download a new Alpha and copy it to Applications, open it, do developer check-out, quit. Open the copy from the diskimage and use it to edit the AlphaVersionInfo.tcl in the bundle in Applications, and set hardcoded counter to 1000. Quit, and fire up the new Alpha from Applications. The indices are being rebuilt, but after that it still gives the core start-up error. --- ** [tickets:#176] very bad problem while sourcing the file "AlphaPostGuiStartup.tcl"** **Status:** fixed **Created:** Fri Jul 06, 2018 02:20 PM UTC by Jonathan E. Alpha will probably not function properly. --- ** [tickets:#179] Backward incremental search does not exhaust current match** **Status:** open **Created:** Sun Sep 02, 2018 01:18 PM UTC by Joachim Kock **Last Updated:** Sun Sep 02, 2018 01:18 PM UTC **Owner:** nobody Backward incremental search does not exhaust current match. In a file with the text abcde abcde abcde abcde abcde go to the end and search backwards (Ctrl-r) for abcde. The correct behaviour would be to find the last occurrence, but for each letter appended to the search string, the search skips backward to previous match, finding instead the first occurrence. This is fixed. Changes committed to the repository ([rev. 1519](https://sourceforge.net/p/alphacocoa/code/1519/)). I have managed to implement this. There is now a new global preference (in the Printing panel) called *Printer Font* which lets you specify both the font name and the size used for printing. Changes committed to the repository ([rev. 1519](https://sourceforge.net/p/alphacocoa/code/1519/)).
